Mr. Larry A. Nichols, 62 of Mt. Airy, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband for 20 years to Darlene Barrett Nichols.

Raised in Fremont, Ohio, on November 7, 1944 he was the son of the late Mildred Lininger Nichols. Larry was a salesman for three years at the FSK Lincoln Mercury in Frederick. With his passion for cars, Larry was a member of the Catoctin Mountain Street Rods and the National Street Rod Association.

A lover of dogs, Larry was a former member of the Catoctin Kennel Club, the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac, the Professional Handlers Association and the Mid Atlantic Stewards Association.

He was a former member of the Bailey's Crossroads and Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Departments.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, David Nichols and wife Barrie of Charles Town, WV, and Daniel Nichols and wife Diana of Virginia Beach, VA; his father, Albert Nichols and wife Mary of Fremont, OH; six grandchildren, Jeanette and Zachary Nichols both of Charles Town; Jessica and Roman Angulo, both of San Diego, CA, and Matthew and Annalise Nichols of Virginia Beach; his sister, Barbara Sharp of Columbus, OH.



Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD

Services: A memorial service will begin at 7:30 PM on Saturday, March 3, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, Md. with Rev. Roger Melson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
