IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Ann
Nave
August 19, 1964 – March 13, 2026
Visitation
Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home
6:00 - 8:00 pm (Eastern time)
Laura Ann Nave, 61, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.
Born on August 19, 1964, to the late Margie and Robert Poffenberger of Fairplay, Maryland, Laura was a proud graduate of Williamsport High School. A true Leo, she carried strength, confidence, and heart into every part of her life. She later became a supervisor at Saint James School, where she was known and loved by many as “Ms. Laura.”
Laura was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the matriarch and the glue that held everything, and she cared deeply for her family in a way that was impossible to miss. She was always there, especially when it mattered most, always ready to help you figure things out. She was fiercely protective of the people she loved and everyone knew not to mess with her when it came to her family. She feared nothing and faced every obstacle life threw her way ready to fight. People were drawn to her not only for who she was, but for her natural beauty, with her big feathered hair and her bright green eyes. She was remarkable and carried herself with such confidence. She had a strong presence, a good heart, and in every sense was a true “boss woman.” She left an impression on everyone who knew her.
She found happiness in simple, everyday things. Laura loved working in the yard, spending hours outside in the flowerbeds and watching for her beloved birds and bumblebees. She had a deep appreciation for the world around her, which made her wise beyond her years. She enjoyed NASCAR - especially back when it was really NASCAR, as she would say with a smile-and was a devoted fan of Rusty Wallace. She even had the chance to meet him during one of her trips down south to the races, a memory she truly treasured.
In earlier years, Laura and her husband shared a love of motorcycle rides. They were soulmates who loved each other more than anything, and the time they spent riding together was just one of the many ways they shared that bond - enjoying each other’s company, feeling free, and living a little recklessly side by side. She also loved driving back roads with the windows down and the music turned a little too loud, listening to Stevie Nicks and singing along, “Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’, ’cause I’ve built my life around you…”
Laura is survived by her daughter, Kristina Morris and her fiancé, Joseph Rogers; her grandchildren, Alexis Easterday, James Easterday, Leona Nave, and Hannah Rogers; her brother-in-law, Kevin Faircloth and his daughter, her niece, Tiffany Faircloth.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Poffenberger; her sister, Peggy Faircloth; her son, Bryan Nave; and her husband, Joseph Nave.
Laura deeply loved the animals in her life who brought her comfort and joy, her dogs Delilah and Blaze, her granddaughter’s cat Stormy, and her late dogs Max and Rebel.
A visitation, to celebrate both Laura and her husband’s lives, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Laura faced life head-on and never backed down from what came her way. She will be remembered for her strength, and her love for her family. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
