Lenora Burchett Davis

September 26, 1939 — December 2, 2023

Frederick

It is with great sadness we announce that Lenora Burchett Davis passed away peacefully in her home on Dec 2, 2023, at the age of 84. She was held, cared for and in the company of her loving family during that time.

Lynn was born September 26, 1939 in Jonesville, Virginia as the only child to her parents, Marshall Burchett and Carrie Hall Alsap. She grew up in Lee County, Virginia where she was at the top of her class in Pennington Gap High School. She received a nursing degree from Riverside Hospital and was employed as an RNPA for 47 years. Lynn retired in 2006 after finishing her last 20 years at Anthem BS in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2009, she relocated to Frederick, Maryland to be closer to family and her granddaughter; a true source of joy for her.

She is survived by her loving sons Jeffery Dean Davis (San Miguel de Allende, Mexico) and Mark Douglas Davis, his wife Deniene, (Baltimore, MD), her only granddaughter Grace Rose Davis, (attending University of Delaware), her Aunt Flo Hall (Frederick, MD) along with many beloved cousins and dear friends.

Lynn’s favorite experiences and stories involved family, sharing love and her faith in god, which she generously shared. These were her values and where her heart held court. She was a force of nature with a desire and commitment to creating a place where people felt like they belonged and were family - hosting youth events, participating in churches wherever she lived and providing a home where her sons’ friends felt comfortable stopping by to see and spend time with her, regardless of whether her sons were home.

Lynn stated her desire for people to have a more abundant, healthy and loving experience many times and followed those words with actions to help. She was a remarkable woman - she made the world a better place with her Shining Light.

A private funeral service was held Friday, December 8 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.

Rather than flowers, Lynn requested contributions be made to the Red Cross.
