Leon Myron Paradise, age 84, of Somerford Place, Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at the home of his son.
Born March 10, 1924 in Moosic, PA, he was the son of the late Marc A. and Edna M. Corby Paradise.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Doris McNamar Paradise and Martha Sullivan Paradise.
He was formerly employed as a professor at the University of the District of Columbia.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy Air Corps.
He was a member of Morris-Frock American Legion Post 42 in Hagerstown, Middletown Lions Club and he was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura L. Paradise of Virginia and Mary Anne Paradise of Monrovia, MD; three sons, Tom M. Paradise of Middletown, MD, Richard L. Paradise of Sharpsburg, MD, and Edward Paradise of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James B. Paradise.
Services will be private. There will be no visitation.
