Linda Beavers

Linda Beavers, 72, of New Market, Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Linda grew up in a large farming family in Montgomery County, Maryland. She is the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Savage) Covell.

Linda graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1970 and then went on to work at NIST for over 40 years. After retirement, she was able to pursue her passion of sewing and quilting. She was part of several sewing bees and quilt guilds. She worked part-time at Patches Quilt Shop, Mt. Airy, Maryland, where she enjoyed helping others with quilting.

Linda is survived by her husband, of 47 years, Thomas; son, Eric of International Falls, Minnesota; and daughter, Tessa (Pat) Gordon of Frederick, Maryland; grandchild, Daniel Beavers. Also survived by siblings, Bertha Musser, Sharon Dickinson (Robert), Sandy Buffington, Gail Brashear, Harry Covell, Osie Lebowitz (Dave), and Scott Covell; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Putch, Bob and Donnie Covell.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.
