Linda Lee Fogle, 87, of Keymar, passed from this life on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Chester L. Fogle, Jr.

Born on December 19, 1935, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late George Edward Shook, Sr. and Catherine Noraine (Fraley) Shook.

Linda graduated from Thurmont High School and attended Hagerstown Business College, while working as a waitress at Cozy Restaurant. In earlier years, she worked at Moores Business Forms in Thurmont as a proof reader and form designer. After raising her children, she worked at Super Thrift in Thurmont, before retirement. 

She was a special lady, known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing her love of music through piano and song. Linda attributed her piano teacher, Mildred Trevett, with fostering her talents and encouraging her to share them with the community. Linda provided music for many events but the highlight was playing for President Johnson at Harriet Chapel in Thurmont. 

She was a member of Tom's Creek United Methodist Church and the Woodsboro American Legion Ladies Auxilliary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three loving daughters, Wanda Shook, Liz Murray, and Debbi Burke and her husband Sean. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, David Smith and wife Michelle, Scott Bane Jr., Jennifer Hormes and husband Bill, Andrew Bane, Megan Murray, Corey Burke and Ryan Burke, and bonus granddaughter, Laura Pett; five great-grandchildren, Brayden Bane, Dylan Bane, Payten Stottlemyer, Emma Hormes, and Adalynne Hormes and bonus great-granddaughter, Kimberly Pett; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Dennis Murray; two brothers, George Edward Shook, Jr. and Nelson Eugene Shook; and a sister, Patricia Ann Somogyi.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Frederick Health Hospice for the loving care provided to Linda.

A celebration of Linda's life journey will take place 11 a.m. on Monday, October 16 at Tom's Creek United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Tom's Creek Cemetery .
