Lois Darrah

Mrs. Lois J. Darrah, 87, of Mount Airy, died on Wednesday, November 28 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  She was the wife of Edwin C. Darrah, III.  Born in Sunbury, PA on March 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Paul Knouse and Edith Smith.

Mrs. Darrah was a member of Mount Airy Presbyterian Church.  She also belonged to the Red Hat Society in Mount Airy and The Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Airy Legion Gold Star Post.  Lois was also an avid quilter, having won many awards, and enjoyed baking cookies for her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Edwin H. Darrah and his wife Lynnette as well as her daughter Susan Miller and her husband Dan.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Darrah, Joshua Miller and Zachary Miller, a step-granddaughter Renae Lusk and one great-granddaughter Ava Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, at 2:00 PM at the Mount Airy American Legion, 801 Prospect Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771, with a light lunch to follow.
