Louise M. Hahn , 85, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, passed from this life on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Quincy Village. She was the wife of the late Harold H. Hahn Sr.
Born on June 30, 1940, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John Hughes and Sarah (Harris) Hughes.
Louise was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Arlington VA 1958. She furthered her education at Frederick Community College, with a Nursing A.S. in the Registered Nursing program.
She started her career in nursing as a LPN in 1959. Later in life she returned to school and proudly became an RN. She retired in 2005 from nursing at Homewood.
Louise was always a faithful member of the Methodist church in various communities where she lived. Additionally, she was a member of The American Kennel Club.
At a young age, Louise was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Clinton and Esther McGrew. She referred to them as Mother and Daddy. As a child she spent summers at the Jersey shore, and the Chesapeake bay. As a teenager she was active in school and girl scouts, was an honor student and an avid reader.
She held her girlfriends close to her heart throughout her life, and was always in contact with them with beautiful cards and encouraging messages.
Enjoyed her family and loved being a mother of three sons. As the wife of an army soldier, her travels took her to many places. Including Berlin Germany where two of her sons were born.
Crafts and sewing brought her many hours of enjoyment. Flower gardening, her dogs and regional travel were some of her favorite activities. She had a sweet tooth for Chocolate and wouldn’t be caught without her red lipstick.
She is survived by sons, David Wesley Stanfield and Carol, and Donald Wayne Stanfield and Hiromi; grandson Jesse; and daughter-in-law Leah Stanfield.
Louise was predeceased by former spouses, Ronald W. Stanfield and Harold H. Hahn Sr.; her oldest son, Michael W. Stanfield; and her adopted parents, Clinton and Esther McGrew.
She was a dear sweet lady, pleasant and poised. She will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, MD.
Graveside services will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Keysville Union Cemetery, 2002 S. Keysville Rd in Keymar, MD.
Memorial donations may be made to Quincy Village, 6596 Orphanage Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
