Luerenda Reed Waters

Luerenda Waters, 88 of Cooksville,MD, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 in Potomac Maryland. “Lue” as many called her was born on July 27, 1937 in Horsepen, VA to the late Jessie and Edna (Stevenson) Dickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Nelson Reed, second husband, Everett Waters, and siblings: Goldia Jean Amburgey, Marsha Elizabeth Havens, Vernie Faye Bowman, Kenneth Woodson Dickens, and Roy Carroll Dickens.

Lue is survived by her son, Mark (Sharon) Reed of Cooksville, MD; daughter, Susan Reed; granddaughter Ashley (Brian) Barth of Westminster, MD; great granddaughters Brooklyn and Ellie Barth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private. The family requests in leiu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital 332 N Lauderdale St, Memphis TN 38105.
