Madolyn Kay Lewis

Madolyn “Kay” Lewis passed away peacefully at the Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy, Maryland on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

She was predeceased by husband Gerald “Jerry” L. Lewis, sisters Linda Wilt and Patricia Holloway, son-in-law Albert Darryl Lambert and grandson Nathaniel Lewis Wilkins.

Born in Altoona, PA she was the daughter of Helen E. Wentz Jarl and Homer Leroy Wagner.

Devoted mother of Deborah Trail Lambert of Mount Airy, MD, Martin Edward (Kay) Trail, Jr. of Montana, SFC David Keith (Tammy) Trail of Franklin, WV. Devoted stepmother to Gerald M. (Eileen) Lewis of Germantown, MD and Catherine Lewis of Indian Shores, FL. Adoring grandmother to Katherine, Charlotte, Jason, Beau, Brittany, Blake, Brandon, Christopher and Nicholas and great grandchildren Gabby, Rylan, Hunter, Amarylis Rose, Ava, August Bee, Landon Rivers, Micah, Madilynn, Maddox, Hudson Alexander and Lucy James.

Throughout her life, Kay held many jobs - beautician, bookkeeper, office administrator and realtor, finishing her career as Group Sales Manager of the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. Upon returning to Maryland, Kay quickly made friends including her favorite canine variety. She was known to always have a treat jar filled and ready to share at her door for all those who wandered by. Kay also recently joined both the Frederick, MD Elks Lodge 684 and the American Legion Auxiliary FSK Unit #11 and found a sense of purpose with community service and, of course, making new friends. Kay’s greatest love was her family.

Fulfilling her wishes, no service is being held. Given her love of dogs, consider making a donation to Paws of War (pawsofwar.org) in her memory.
