Mann

Celebration of Life
Brunswick City Park
12:00 - 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Margaret Elizabeth Burrier (Peggy) Mann, age 90, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1935, the daughter of Calvin Steiner and Margaret Bussard Burrier. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William (Bill) Mann, in 2018.
Peggy is survived by four children: Sharon Sandin (widow of Bill Sandin) of Kansas City, KS, Keith Mann and wife Bethany of Brunswick, Karen Wigfield and husband Jim of Knoxville, and Kent Mann and wife Jamie of Frederick; eight grandchildren: James Mann, Joseph Mann, Tyler Wigfield and wife Chrysantha, Willie Wigfield, Gwen Wigfield, Shay Wigfield and wife Whitney, Trent Wigfield, and Reed Wigfield; and four great-grandchildren: Levi Mann, Beau Wigfield, Deacon Wigfield, and Mason Wigfield.
Peggy was also “Sis” to 10 siblings: Barbara Kramer of Port Charlotte, FL, and Kenneth Burrier of Thurmont, and to those who predeceased her: Calvin S. Burrier, Jr., George (Pat) Burrier, Howard (Bud) Burrier, Anne Moore, Mary Jane Carbaugh, Nancy Burrier, James S. Burrier, Sr., and Cheryl Bittner.
Peggy will be remembered for her quick wit and humor, much like the Maxine cards and calendars she adored. She was our family’s real-life Maxine. She will also be remembered for her creativity and talent, and her love and compassion for others, especially children. Peggy was a presence at Brunswick Elementary School and Brunswick Middle School for many years as both an employee and volunteer. For several years she ran a summer program in Brunswick for children, where she incorporated fun, games, and crafts into learning. Peggy painted ceramics and did several types of needlework, that included her “mug rugs.” She was a talented seamstress, producing everything from children’s clothing to prom and wedding gowns, home textiles, toys, and more. Peggy was also known for her crocheting talent, making a range of items that she happily shared that included clothing, home items, and toys, but especially afghans. Peggy donated hundreds of her handmade afghans to homes, centers, and shelters. Peggy was an avid Washington Redskins fan with an impressive collection of Redskins memorabilia. Additionally, her love for the Redskins’ “Hogs” inspired her vast collection of pigs. Peggy considered a highlight in her life to be attending the 1992 Super Bowl in Minneapolis to watch the Redskins become Super Bowl XXVI Champions.
The family will host a Celebration of Life in honor of Peggy on Sunday, April 12, at Noon, in the Brunswick City Park Building.
