Margarette Johnson Moser

February 23, 1923 — June 22, 2021

Margarette Ann Johnson Moser, 98, passed away June 22, 2021 in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was born in Washington, Indiana. Her mom died when she was five years old and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Maude and Joseph Wilson, in Indiana and New Mexico. Margarette’s brother, Robert D. Johnson was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He died in 2001.

Margarette attended Georgetown University’s nursing school in Washington, D.C. and there met the love of her life, Dr. James Moser, Jr., They were married for 47 years. James passed away in 1991.

Margarette was a loving mother who raised seven children. She was always there to help with homework, to give advice, and to drive to various activities.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, bird watching, spoiling her cats, and listening to music. She was an excellent seamstress who made clothes and costumes for herself and the family.

Margarette was an active member of the Holy Cross Hospital volunteers for many years and a longtime communicant of St. Andrews parish in Wheaton, MD. .

Margarette will always be remembered by her children; Peggy Emmling (Charles) of Warrenton, Virginia, Michael Moser (Vicki) of Frederick Maryland, Patricia Morris (John) of Incline Village, Nevada, Christine Harris (Fred) of Tucson, Arizona, Mary Kay Moser (Robert Phillips) of Flemington New Jersey, Camille Moser of Germantown, Maryland, and Robert Moser of Olney, Maryland. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Quality Comfort Care and Linda Kossay who took great care of Margarette during her final days.
