Margie Marie Hunter, 92, of Rockville, MD, passed away January 13, 2026. Born April 20, 1933 in Richmond, VA, Margie was the daughter of the late Edna Virginia and George Edward Fisher. She is preceded in death by her husband, William P. Hunter, as well as her siblings, George Fisher, Louise Lewis, Nell Parker and Margie's twin brother, Maurice Fisher.
Margie grew up in Washington, DC, graduating from Eastern High School, before residing in Rockville, MD for 69 years. She was a stay-at-home mom before her 25 year career as a secretary, office manager and eventually as President of Capitol Air Products in Landover, MD.
Margie enjoyed being a mom and especially loved being a grandma and great-grandma to all her sugar pies. She loved spending time at the beach in Ocean City, MD, traveling on many cruises and work trips and especially her trips to Florida to visit her sister in the later years. She loved crossword puzzles, music and a good murder mystery novel. Margie was a kind, selfless, sweet, hardworking and very generous woman.
Margie is survived by her children; son, William (Bill) Hunter, Jr. (Carol); daughters, Karen Selwyn (Al), Brenda Gruber, and Susan (Sue) Jones (Greg); as well as 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, with a funeral service to begin at 12 noon. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
