Marguerite E. Fisher

Marguerite Ellen "Marty" Fisher, 80, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Homewood at Crumland Farms.  She was the wife of Frank Fisher for over 60 years. Born on December 4, 1942, in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of Harry Evans and Bettie (McCabe) Evans.

She was a 1960 graduate of Hamilton High School in Columbus, OH.  Mrs. Fisher worked for Frederick High School, as an administrative assistant, for many years.  Prior to her retirement, she held the same position at the FCPS Main Office on Hayward Road.  During her career, she was involved in the Maryland Association of Educational Office Personnel and Frederick County Association of Educational Secretaries and Aides. 

Marguerite was an avid Ohio State Fan, specifically the Buckeye Football Team.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her children, Julie Neary (Patrick), Lorena Zecher (Keith) and Frank Fisher, Jr. (Kelli); 8 Grandchildren: Alex Currington (Heidi), Jarrod Currington (Beth), Joy Currington, Craig Zecher (Jessi), Caleb Zecher (Samantha), Clark Zecher, Josh Fisher (Melissa) and Jacob Fisher (Lily Finneyfrock); 7 great-grandchildren: Abigail, Aurora, Arizona ,Everly, Sadie, Sawyer, Samuel.  She is also survived by a brother, Harry Evans, Jr. and his wife Gertrude.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Evans and a sister, Catherine Weiss.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 10 to 11 AM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
