On June 29th, 2026, Maria E. Addington, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy, Md.
Born on February 11, 1942, in New York, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Bill and Rose Rosano. She was also preceded in death by her cherished grandchildren, Danielle Schoonover and Kyle Addington.
Maria graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland, and began her career at the National Security Agency (NSA), where she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim. She later worked for several years at Wells Fargo in Frederick, Maryland.
Above all else, Maria's greatest joy was her family. She treasured every opportunity to cook for and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. She also had a remarkable talent and passion for cross-stitching, earning several Blue-Ribbon awards for her beautiful work at the Frederick Fair. Maria was fortunate to travel the world with her husband and family, creating countless treasured memories along the way.
Maria is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Jim Addington; her children, Jim Addington (Amanda), Theresa Schoonover (Carey), Mike Addington (Wendy), and daughter-in-law, Tricia Addington; her grandchildren, Alex Stickelman (Jordan), Philip Addington (Danielle), Jessica Regan (Patrick), Ryan Addington (Ashley), and Jenna Lucas (Hayes); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Harper Stickelman, Max Stickelman, Cooper Addington, and Emery Lucas.
She is also survived by her siblings, William Rosano, Don Rosano (Bonnie), Richard Rosano (Linda), and Laura Lake (Dave), along with many beloved nieces, nephews, treasured friends, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Community in Middletown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy.
