Maria Ercilia Minda, 98, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 18, 1923, in Ibarra, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Nicolasa Minda.
Maria worked 30 years at Fabrica Europea in Quito, Ecuador.
She loved reading, praying, watching soccer and horse racing, going to the beach and the ocean and enjoyed people watching around the neighborhood.
She is survived in the United States by her daughter, Rosario Minda; granddaughters, Kathy Pearson and Janina Smith; great-granddaughters, Dany Rueda and Andrea Calles; great-grandsons, David Calles and Matthew Pearson; grandson-in-law, Mark Pearson; great-granddaughter-in-law, Lindsey Owens; and great-grandson-in-law, Ryan King. She is also survived in Ecuador by her 7 grandchildren, Fernando, Joselito, Alicia, Alexis, Edison, Henry and Maritza Mina and their respective families including great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews from the Carrera Minda family and the Rivadeneira Suarez family and their respective families.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mariana de Jesus Minda and siblings, Lucrecia Minda and Berta Suarez.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road in Ijamsville, MD on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 10:30 am.
Father Mike Jendrek will officiate.
Interment will be private
