Marie E. Lynch

Marie E Lynch, age 83, passed away April 18, 2026, at The Gardens of Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She was born April 16, 1943, in Washington, DC, a daughter to the late James and Anita Richitt.

Marie grew up in Silver Spring Maryland, where she met the love of her life, Patrick, they were married in 1968. She lived most of her life in Frederick, MD, where she worked as a bank teller for over 25 years, retiring from BB&T. She loved gardening and enjoyed her dates out with Patrick to eat dinner and go to the movies. Her favorite things to do were family trips to Ocean City, MD and to Skyline Drive with Patrick in the Fall. Marie spent most of her life in Maryland, most recently she lived at The Gardens of Virginia Beach.

Marie has gone to the lord to be alongside her beloved husband Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Lynch.

She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Stewart of Frederick, Maryland, Shannon Toms (Sean) of Middletown, Maryland; one son, James Lynch (Colleen) of Norfolk, Virginia; four grandchildren Joseph Stewart, Elijah Stewart, Casey Smid and April Lynch. As well as, her sister Barbara Capelli, brother David Richitt, along with many other family and friends, including the friends she made and the staff at The Gardens of Virginia Beach in Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm.

Marie was loved and will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Marie’s memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
