Marietta Williams

August 5, 1952 — November 8, 2025

Frederick

Marietta Williams, affectionately known to many as "Lady Dynasty" and "Mama Peach", transitioned peacefully from this life on November 8, 2025. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Born in Cuthbert, Georgia, on August 5, 1952 to Dorothy Dunbar (Coleman) and William Dunbar Jr., Marietta was a woman of grace, strength, and boundless love. She lived her life with purpose, always putting others before herself. Her radiant smile, warm hugs and kind spirit left lasting impressions on everyone she met.

Marietta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She raised her only daughter Aisha Hartford (Whitehead) with unwavering love and faith.

Her life was a living example of compassion and humility. Marietta had the rare gift of making every person feel seen and loved. She found beauty in the simplest things and was thankful for every blessing, no matter how small. She worked until her retirement at Family Services of Rochester/CFC, where she gained some true friendships along the way. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Baptist Church, of Rochester, NY, up until she relocated to Maryland.

Marietta is survived by her loving daughter, Aisha Hartford (Whitehead), son-in-law Bobby Hartford III, her grandchildren Celetra Hartford, Jaxson Hartford IV, & Kingston Hartford, her mother Dorothy Dunbar, and father, William Dunbar Jr. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Tony Horton, a nephew, Taalib Horton (Katrina), a niece, Shirtona Horton and a very special sister, brother & nephew not only in Christ, but friendship, Rev & Sis Daniel & Barbara Fluellen Sr. (Daniel Jr.) and a host of cousins, extended family and friends who cherished her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her loving and beautiful sister, Shirley Horton.

The family has chosen to have a private celebration of her life, but ask that you continue to live your everyday life the way she did- "Live-Laugh-Love"

In lieu of flowers the family ask that you consider a donation in her name to a cause that was dear to her heart -Katie's Krops   https://katieskrops.charityproud.org/Donate

Though she has left this world, her light will forever shine through the lives that she touched. As you pray for her, please remember her favorite Bible verse-Psalms 23

"She was love in human form-thankful, humble, and full of grace."
