Mark was born to Harrison and M. Christine Ropp on June 22, 1956. He graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1974. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, riding motorcycles, singing karaoke and spending time with his family as well as his dogs Layla, Jake and Henry. Mark worked for the National Institutes of Health for 33 years as a maintenance mechanic and boiler operator.
Mark is survived by his wife Rose, his daughter Amber Haynes and husband Matt, with grandchildren Zoey and Matthew. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren Avaya and Brandon Recard, his brother Brad Ropp, along with nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Derek Recard.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home located at 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. In lieu of flowers, family requests that guests bring any pictures or memories of Mark they would like to share.
