Mark Drew Summers of Middletown, MD passed away on September 2, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Belfast, Ireland on August 14,1945 to the late Mark L. Summers and Alice K. Drew Summers.

 He was married to Judy Ann Summers.  They were high school sweethearts and were married for 57 years.  He was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1963.  

After graduation he went to work for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and retired after 30 years as a Planner/Estimator.  While working for the federal government, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years (1965-1968) and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska and San Antonio, Texas.  He was a Tracked Vehicle Mechanic.  While in the Army, he received several commendations -- the National Defense Service medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Badge (Rifle M-14).  

After retiring from NIH, he then worked at several companies in the Frederick, MD area for over 25 years with the last place of employment being Lowes.

 His hobbies were hunting, fishing, antiques and collector cars.  He owned a 1966 Corvette (which he restored) and a 2005 Mustang.  

Mark's greatest joy was his family, especially his two granddaughters.  He spent many hours watching their softball games, dance recitals and other events.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Terri Green and husband Kirk, and granddaughters Taylor A. Green and Courtney P. Green. He is also survived by his two sisters Jennifer Kinna and husband Tony and Gail Wiles and husband Merhl, multiple nieces and nephews and extended family. 

Services and interment will be private.
