Mark E. Zewe

Mark Edmund Zewe, 56, of Walkersville, MD, passed away December 13, 2025, in Frederick, MD. Born June 3, 1969, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Merrily Hurley and Marshall S. Zewe.

Mark graduated from Walter Johnson HS and worked for many years at Safeway in Walkersville. Mark was known as a friend to everyone he met, a hard worker, and a generous volunteer within the community. A faithful member of Walkersville Community Church, Mark loved his family deeply and lived his faith through kindness and service.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall D. Zewe. He is survived by his sister, Melinda Griffee (Mark); sister-in-law, Patti Zewe Schultz; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Allie Vance (Marc), Amanda Hollingsworth (Kevin), Elena Zewe, Nick Zewe, Kyle Griffee (Drew), Bradley Griffee (Kristen), Lilianna and Sabrina Griffee. He is also survived by his beloved great-nieces and great-nephews: Makayla and Katie Vance; Olivia Paddie; Kylee and Jace Hollingsworth; Elias, Valentino, and Amilyia De La Cruz; and Scarlett Griffee.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 18, and Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Walkersville. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
