Martha Ann Paisie

Mrs. Martha Ann Paisie, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the 38 year wife of the late Alfred H. Paisie who died in 1985.

Born March 23, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Joseph and Lillian Clara Weldishofer Metro.

Martha was a 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High in Toledo. She moved to Camp Springs, MD in 1963; to Spotsylvania, VA in 1975 and to Mount Airy, MD in 1985, establishing many new friends in each location. She worked as a gold embosser for Hugo Kalmbacher and Son Bookbinders in Toledo and as an information operator for C & P Telephone Co. in Temple Hills, MD. She was a 16 year member of the Mount Airy Lions Club being known for volunteering for everything and for her artistic creation of the clubs' scrapbooks. Martha was a cowgirl at heart and loved raising chickens.

She leaves to cherish her memory and heritage a son, Joseph Paisie and wife Virginia, and grandchildren: Marine Rct. Matthew Paisie and Carolyn Paisie all of Cary, N.C.; a son, John Paisie and wife Debby DJ, and grandchildren Charles Paisie and Janlyn Paisie all of Mt Airy; a daughter, Marie Rabey and husband Jim, and grandchildren Melissa Rabey, Meredith and Steven Reynaga and great-grandchild Max all of Middletown, DE; granddaughter Elizabeth and Orpheus Vazquez of Tennessee; as well as a host of other relatives, neighbors, Lions and Mt. Airy Senior Center friends. Martha was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzan Paisie and a sister Kay Dayton. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Stacie and other nurses at FMH for their special care.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where a Lions Club service will begin at 7 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 5, at 11:00 am, with Reverend Dennis Yocum of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mt. Airy officiating.

A private interment will take place at Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA.
