Marvin Satchwell

Mr. Marvin Satchwell 87, of Thurmont, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of 48 � years to Margaret A. Jackson Hall Satchwell.

Born on January 13, 1920 in Sanders, KY, he was the son of the late Virgil P. and Lula Mae (Wood) Satchwell. Serving in the United States Air Force during both WW II and the Korean War, Marvin made the military his career serving as a electronics engineer and retiring after 20 years of service in July of 1960 obtaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

Marvin was a member of the Thurmont American Legion Post 168 and AARP. After his retirement he was an avid woodworker and loved to garden.

Besides his wife survivors include his daughter, Cindy Webb Beck and husband Tom of Thurmont; a son, Ernie L. Hall and wife Kathleen of Bel Alton, MD; eleven grandchildren, Kenny Grant, Crystal Mozingo and husband Justin, Kellie Grant, Kevin Grant and girlfriend Christy Walter, Tommy Webb, Tyler Beck , Caitlynn Beck, Liane Martinez and husband John, Kristi Hall and boyfriend Aaron Coons, Jill Kane and husband Jamie, and Brian Hall and wife Erica; four great grandchildren, Savannah,Sydney, Jordan, and Ava; two brothers, Wilmere Satchwell and wife Betty Sue of Morrow, OH and Leo Satchwell of Warsaw,KY; a sister, Violet Mosco of Warsaw, KY; a sister-in-law, Hilda Rae Percosky and husband Chester of White Plains, MD; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his three dogs, Toby, Bandit and Mollie.

Marvin also had two brothers, Walter and Fletcher Satchwell and a siser, Jeanette Parker precede him in death.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the charity of one's choice.
