Mary Virginia Kuzas, 94, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick. She was born at home in Poolesville, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late John Bernard and Mary (Jones) Offutt.
Mary spent her career working for the Federal Government. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed daily walks so that the rocking chair didn’t get her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard A. Parry; and her second husband, Edward Joseph Kuzas, Sr.; as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Don Abbott.
She is survived by her son, Richard A. Parry (Vicki); five grandchildren: Richard A. Parry III, (Kimberly), William R. Parry (Deirdre), Daniel Abbott (Teresa), Kristen Shelton (James) and Rachel Parry; and eight great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Abigal, Charles, Elizabeth, Magnolia, Forrest, Hunter and Lily. Mary also leaves behind step-children: Anne Marie Kuzas of Longs, SC, Edward J. Kuzas, Jr of Union Bridge, MD, Mary Elaine May of Bowie, MD, Kathleen Ann Sink of Vinton, VA, and Charles a. Kuzas; seven step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
To honor Mary’s life and pay tribute to her memory, visitation services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road in Rockville, MD 20853. A Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the same location. Monsignor Charles J. Parry will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 1 p.m. with 12:45 p.m. arrival.
If you desire to send the family flowers, please ask they be delivered to the church the morning of the services. Please, no lilies.
