Mary F. "Peggy" Martin

Mary F. "Peggy" Martin, age 90, of Boonsboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born April 27, 1933, in Keedysville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. Martin and  Helen M. Smith (Ashbaugh).

She retired from her position as secretary at Boonsboro High School where she was employed for 40 years.

Peggy was a longtime member of Boonsboro Bible Church and the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She was also Treasurer of the general fund of the church.

She loved to watch the Orioles, go on bus trips, word search and her church. Peggy was the most loving grandmother who was known for her friendliness, Miss Peg hugs, and her brownies.

Peggy is survived by her three grandsons, Terry Castle, Jr., Aaron Castle and Justin Castle and wife, Amanda; her great-grandchildren, Colby, Justin, Jr., Grace and Olivia; her sister, Beverly Kitchen of Ormond Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth T. Smith and Robert Ashbaugh; and her niece, Kathy Castle.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Robinson officiating. Burial will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery.
