Mary Madeline (Miskell) Pearl, 90 of Jefferson, MD passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, with her family by her side. Born January 30, 1935, in Point of Rocks, MD, she was the daughter of the late Fairfax Minor and Genieve Maggie (Stallings) Miskell.
Madeline worked at American Optical, the National Geographic Society, and Shoppers Food Warehouse as a cashier and then in the meat department where the customers became her friends. She loved to cook and bake, especially preparing meals for her family and friends, playing the slot machines, and following Blake Shelton.
She is survived by one son, Michael Pearl and wife Cathy of Frederick; four daughters, Jennifer Merriman and Winifred Pearl of Jefferson, Evelyn Stephenson of Brunswick, Lana Crutchley and husband Mike of Knoxville; six grandchildren, Kristine Brandi Pearl, Elaine Pearl, Lesley Pearl, Cortlin Pearl, Ashley Merriman, and Devan Wilson; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Campbell of Charlestown, WV and one brother, William Miskell of Rocky Ridge, MD.
She was preceded in death by her former husband Eugene Pearl; two sons-in-law, William “Jack” Merriman and Mark Stephenson; eight siblings: Minor Miskell, Catherine Mohr, Jesse Miskell, Anna Eigenbrode, Birtrand Miskell, Charles Miskell, Madora (Dora) Athey, and Richard Miskell.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, PA (Brunswick), 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD.
A celebration of Madeline’s life journey will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, PA (Brunswick). Pastor Ed Hartman will officiate. Interment will take place at Park Heights Cemetery in Brunswick, MD.
