Mary E. Weedon

Mary E. Weedon, of Frederick departed this earthly life peacefully on February 18, at Citizen's Care and Rehab, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Frederick on March 26, 1937, to the late James Hamilton Carroll Sr. and Cora Frances Carroll. 

She attended Hopehill and Lincoln High School and worked in the food service industry for many years before retiring in 2014. Mary was a kind, loving, funny woman and never had a problem speaking her mind, it was all in love. Before her condition Mary loved to ride the city bus to the mall, where she got to mingle with people. 

Mary will be forever remembered by her loving sister Phylis Carroll of Frederick, one aunt Corinthia Brown, one uncle Levone Carroll (Viola) both of Frederick; seven children, Sherman Weedon (Candace), Marty Weedon (Yvette), Todd Weedon (Lisa), Vickie Weedon, Darryl Cooke, Crystal Bowens (Michael), Anthony Cooke (Erica), and her bonus son Jeff Shockley; 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother James Pete Carroll, two sisters Verlia Carter and Elaine Hyson; three sons Dale Weedon, Kermit Weedon and Bruce Weedon; and two grandsons Donnell Bowens and Todd Weedon Jr. 

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. 

Interment will follow in Hopehill UMC Cemetery.
