Mary Mayetta Stone Zimmerman, 100, of Frederick, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on September 27, 2026 at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. She was the wife of the late Roger E. "Buck" Zimmerman, who preceded her in death on January 28, 1990. Born on November 30, 1925, in White Marsh, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Frances Virginia Blank Stone.

Mayetta was the youngest and the last of her immediate family. At a young age she moved to Frederick County in the Yellow Springs area. She resided on Stone Road in the Feagaville area for her entire adult life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and the Lady's Aid Group for over 80 years. She worked for many years at the Hosiery and Sagners in Frederick.

Mayetta also hand quilted many quilts during her life.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Smith and husband R. Bruce, Mary Zimmerman and husband Phillip, Sharon Crawford, and daughter-in-law Faye Zimmerman; 18 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Shirley Morgan Stone.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her eight siblings, son Robert Zimmerman, and grandchildren, Ryan Zimmerman, April Lynn Garrett, Suann Phan, and Kai Smith.

She took great pride in her family and each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, loving them all dearly.

Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A visitation will start at 10 AM with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
