Matthew Scott Bohraus

Matthew Bohraus, 56, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Christina (Cosca) Bohraus, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage, and the proud father of Joseph Ruben Bohraus, age 23.

Matt was born on January 8, 1969, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Louis F. Bohraus, Jr., and the late Patricia Annette (Bayne) Bohraus. In addition to his wife and son, Matt is survived by his sisters Patricia M. Viscuso and Pamela J. German, both of Capon Bridge, WV, and his brother Jeffrey A. Bohraus of Hagerstown, MD. He also leaves behind a large extended family of siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Matt was an expert at fixing cars and spent his career working in this field. Outside of work, he loved spending time at the family farm in WV, surrounded by his family and friends.

Matt’s greatest joy came from his deep connections to his family. His generous spirit and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew him. As a final act of kindness, Matt was able to give the gift of life as an organ and tissue donor to allow the improvement of countless lives.

A memorial service to celebrate Matt’s life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Infinite Legacy.
