Matthew Wayne Free, 44, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD

Born on April 14, 1981, in Ranson, WV, he was the son of Candy Kay Poole and husband John of Frederick and the late Michael Anders

Matt graduated form Rock Creek School in Frederick and worked at various places through the Scott Key Center. He was a member of the Maryland Cool Kids.

Matt enjoyed attending music concerts, demolition derby's, The Great Frederick Fair and camping with his friends

Surviving in addition to his mother and step father are his brother Scott Free of Frederick, his sister Amanda Fawley and husband Jon of Charles Town, WV and step-sister Krista Kolb and husband Kevin of Reading, PA as well as a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick where a memorial service will begin at 1:00. Pastor Raymond D. Monninger will officiate. A private interment will take place at a later date.
