Maxine Marie Palmer, 96, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Fahrney - Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born on January 18, 1930, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Charlene Glendora (Abbott) Rohrer. In 1998, her husband, Grover Woodrow Palmer, preceded her in death.

She graduated in 1948 from Boonsboro High School. Maxine was employed with Fairchild Aircraft for 22 years and Rohr Industries for an additional 8 years, prior to her retirement.

She was a former member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Williamsport. Maxine was a member of AARP and the Amvets Post 10 in Hagerstown.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby Rohrer of Sharpsburg; nephews, Ken Rohrer of Sharpsburg and Thomas Rohrer and wife, Suzann of Hagerstown; one great-niece, Victoria and one great-nephew, David.

Maxine was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Regina Ann Rohrer, in 2019.

Final resting place ceremonies will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg. Rev. Dana Mersereau will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
