Mency Ann Warfield 82
February 14, 1943 - November 12, 2025
Mency Ann Warfield of Woodbine and later Frederick, Maryland, passed away at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center of Frederick.
Mency was the youngest child of Harry and Clemency Fairbairn and was raised in the beach town of Atlantic City, New Jersey. She eventually brushed the sand from her flip flops as a young adult and relocated to Maryland. It was the move to Maryland that led her to meet her husband of 45 years.
She worked various jobs in sales over the years. Her most recent employment as a Kohls Department Store associate kept her busy for over a decade and she was well into a second, until her retirement.
While still working part time, she also spent over six years, every day without fail, by the side of her husband as his devoted caregiver during his health challenges prior to his passing.
Her interests included cooking, trying new recipes, preparing holiday meals, reading and burning the fireplace on a snowy day. She and her husband spent a number of years traveling as well. When at home, she enjoyed time in her garden and planting flowers.
In addition to her parents, Mency is predeceased by her husband David, step-son Warren and her two brothers Harry and James.
She is survived by Davids children Debra, Ellen and Scott and their families including four grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as a large extended family.
Her spirited personality will also live on in the hearts of her nephews, a niece, their families, and multiple life long friends.
To be respectful of her wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
A special thank you to the physicians, nurses, caregivers and the many support staff at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center of Frederick and to Hospice for their efforts in her exceptional care and continued support.
