Michael Aaron Miller passed away on August 1, 2025, in Frederick, Maryland, at the age of 92. Born on May 26, 1933, in Joliet, Illinois, he was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, by his parents, the late Honorable Judge Martin Kenneth Miller and late Hildreth Hament Miller. He was the oldest of 4 children and is survived by his brother Howard Miller (Linda) and sisters, Betty Chemers (Dan) and Drs. Marilyn Schwartz (Frederick) along with generations of many nieces and nephews.
Michael shared 40 years of marriage with Carole Lee Miller until her passing in 2004. Together they raised three children: Barbara Bennett (Dave), Mark Miller (Karen), and Lisa Long (Dean). Michael’s legacy continues not only through his children but through his grandchildren Samantha Bennett (Richard Gilker), Samantha Lynch (Jordan), Michael Seitz (Noelle), Ryan Miller, Rachael Clairmont (Mason), Emma Long, Zackery Long, Camden Homer, Brandon Calcara, and Shaun Calcara and great-grandchildren Elaina Lynch, Logan Lynch, Reagan Lynch, Michael David Seitz, Elizabeth Gilker, Grayson Calcara and Brooks Calcara.
Michael served his country in the United States Army before obtaining his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. Michael dedicated his professional life to public service as a Certified Public Accountant for the federal government. After retiring, he returned to the workforce serving as an accountant for the National Chimney Sweep Guild before finally retiring in 1996 and relocating to Sarasota, Florida. Beyond his career, Michael embraced a vibrant array of passions that brought joy to many. He was a talented clown and magician who delighted audiences with his performances. His love for music found expression through barbershop harmony singing, a pursuit that enriched both his life and those around him for over 40 years.
A committed volunteer, Michael gave generously of his time to the Sarasota Sailor Circus, Circus Sarasota, and the Southeastern Guide Dogs, reflecting his deep commitment to community and service. He raised several puppies for the seeing impaired and was preceded in death by his best friend, Squire, whom he adored.
Michael’s life was marked by dedication to family, to service, and to bringing joy to others through laughter and music. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, Florida.
