Michael Louis Buck, 71, of Ijamsville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was the beloved husband of Donna Lee (Gossard) Buck for 41 years.
Born on September 20, 1954, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Billy Louis and Bonnie Jean (Edwards) Buck.
Michael retired from the Architect of the Capitol in 2013 after more than 34 years of service. He raised Shorthorn cattle for nearly 40 years and was a past member of the Maryland Shorthorn Association. He was an active member of the Frederick County Fire Rescue Honor Guard, Chief of Citizens Truck Company #4, member of New Market District Volunteer Fire Company #15 and past member of Urbana Volunteer Fire Department # 23. Michael was a past ride captain for the Maryland Patriot Guard, honoring fallen and disabled veterans. He also volunteered for Homes for Our Troops. He loved being “Pop Pop” to his twin granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Bonnie Jean Carder, his son Kevin Michael Louis Buck and wife Victoria Woltz, granddaughters Serina Sage Buck and Madison Rae Buck, brother Bret Edward Buck and wife Debbie Buck, sister Jill Marie (Buck) Gossard, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Billy Louis Buck and his daughter Katelyn Michele Lee Buck.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
