Michael (Mike) (Deacon) John Donoghue, 70, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on August 3, 1955, in Takoma Park, Maryland, he was the son of the late John Aloysius Donoghue and Gladys Irene Donoghue (Miller) .

Mike was a proud graduate of Rockville High School class of 1973, and of Shepherd College class of 1979, where he received his Bachelors of Science and was a brother of Delta Sigma Pi.

Mike held many jobs in life, most notably being the manager of Bushwallers in downtown Frederick, a top Maryland Real Estate Agent for RE/MAX, and most recently, at the Ballenger Creek Teaching Kitchen.

He was a proud member of the Frederick Moose Lodge, where he was an avid pool player. Mike also enjoyed playing Golf and the ComusTose Fantasy Football league. He was a lifelong and loyal fan of the Capitals, Orioles, and Commanders, and enjoyed watching and attending games with his family and friends. He loved the beach, and considered Southern Shores, NC his second home.

He is survived by his son, Taylor Donoghue and his partner Cassandra, grandchildren Myles and Nora, his sister, Patricia Strade and her partner Robert, his nephew, Gavin, his nephew, Ryan and his partner, Emeralda, and his dog Bodie, as well as numerous extended family and loving friends.

A celebration of Michael's life journey will take place on Saturday, April 4th, at the Frederick Moose Lodge, 828 E. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701 at 12 noon. Interment will be a private ceremony at a later date.

In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Frederick County Animal Shelter per Mike’s wishes.
