Michael Patrick Fitzgerald, Jr., 28, of Germantown, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, as a result of an auto accident. Born on April 22, 1997, in Silver Spring, MD, he was the son of Michael Patrick Fitzgerald, Sr. and Kimberly Rae (Gray) Fitzgerald.

Michael liked to stay busy - whether he was working, hitting the gym, playing basketball, or finding any way to keep active.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Kristen Fitzgerald (Grayson), his paternal grandmother, Barbara Fitzgerald, uncles, Thomas Fitzgerald III (Robin), Corey Gray (Stephanie), Shane Gray (Cheryl), cousins, Dava Lyles (Brady), Cody Gray (Nicole), and Taylor Gray (David).

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas Fitzgerald Jr., his maternal grandparents, Shirley Gray, Fred Gray, and stepgrandmother, Ellie Candaffio, as well as an uncle, David Fitzgerald.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 19 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A private burial will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Rocky Ridge, MD.
