Michael Brannon Gegner

Michael Brannon Gegner, 72, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at home in Mount Airy, MD.

Born on December 4, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of William Roy Gegner and Dorothy (Tapman) Gegner.

Michael was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD and earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  He spent most of his career in healthcare finance and administration throughout the US.

He enjoyed traveling the world indulging in his love of history, and had many hobbies including boating, photography, wood working and model trains.  He was active in the United States Coast Guard reserves and received a Certificate of Photography from Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts.  

In addition to his wife, Eva, he is survived by his son, Greg Gegner and wife, Telleen, of Smyrna, Georgia, and his daughter, Ana Beqaj and husband, Omar, of Los Angeles, California; as well as five grandchildren who knew him as "Pop Pop" - Tenley, Gavin, and Greyson Gegner, all of Georgia, and Bowie and Norrin Beqaj of California. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael's Road in Mount Airy, MD. 21771. A Mass will follow at 12:00pm.

Following memorial services, friends and family are invited for an informal luncheon at Michael and Eva's home.
