Michael Eugene Shirk

Michael Shirk, 67, of Mount Airy, MD passed from this life on Monday, August 29, 2022, peacefully at his home in Mount Airy, MD.

Born on May 28, 1955, he was the son of Ella Mae Shirk and the late William O. Shirk, Sr.

He was the loving husband of Dorothy Jenkins.

Mike was an avid fisherman and hunter who devoted his life to his family. If he was not hunting, fishing, or caring for his family, you would find him mowing his yard, tinkering with his tractors, fishing boats or the like, mentoring and hanging out with his grandchildren, great-grandchild or simply sitting on his porch watching the day go by.  He shared a one-of-a-kind bond and love for his grandson, Chantz Quick. Mike lived every day on his terms and fiercely loved his family. 
In addition to his mother, Ella Mae Shirk and his wife, Dorothy Jenkins, he is survivied by his daughter, Annmarie Quick; son-in-law, Chris Quick; grandson , Chantz Quick; granddaughter, Kaiya Quick; great-granddaughter, Henzley Quick; brother, William Shirk; sister, Sharon Long and their spouses.  Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him very much. 

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Mosner and Pamela Shirk.

The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Mount Airy, MD 21771, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd Mt. Airy, MD. 21771.

A celebration of Michaels life will follow at 10am.    Rev. Tim May will officiate. 

Interment will be at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3716 Kemptown Church Road Monrovia, MD 21770. 
Reception to follow at Chris & Annmarie’s home in Mt. Airy, MD.
