Miss Mildred “Penny” Berry, 62 of Silver Spring, MD, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Sanctuary at Holy Cross, Silver Spring.
Born May 26, 1948 in Frederick, MD., she was the daughter of the late Charles S., Sr. and Henrietta Anderson Berry.
In earlier years, Penny worked as a Communications Officer and State Trooper for the State of Maryland. She was an ordained minister, serving for several years at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Rockville.
She loved all types of music and enjoyed working puzzles.
Miss Berry is survived by her sisters and brothers Anne Bowie of Philadelphia, PA. Barbara Jean Pollard of Brunswick, Charles S. Berry, Jr and wife Artiene of Inwood, WV and Robert Berry of Brunswick, her special friend Deborah Jefferson of Silver Spring, MD, and special uncle George “Petty” Berry. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Monday, March 28, from 7- 9 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday, March 29, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Kaye Coates officiating.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
