Natalie Rudenko Louden

Natalie Rudenko Louden, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 76.

Born on April 12, 1950 in Ansbach, Germany to Fedor and Klara Rudenko, Natalie immigrated to the United States when she was just six months old. Her Ukrainian heritage was an important part of her identity, which she carried forward in many of the traditions, foods, and values that shaped the way she lived and loved.

On May 3, 1980, she married the love of her life, Harry, and together they built a life centered on love and family. They were blessed with three children – Laura, Matthew, and Michael, and five granddaughters – Claire, Della, Milena, Avery and Colette. Being a mother and “Mimi” was the greatest joy of Natalie’s life.

Natalie found her happiest moments in the heart of her family. She treasured summer vacations to Hilton Head and time spent with family at their lake house on Smith Mountain Lake. She was known to show her love through food, thoughtfully ensuring everyone’s favorite foods were on hand and that each child felt seen, cherished, and deeply loved. She had a unique gift for hospitality, creating warmth, comfort and a sense of belonging wherever she was.

She also built a rich circle of friendships throughout her life. Natalie was a proud member of the Frederick Women’s Garden Club and several other local interest and charitable organizations. Her friendships brought her joy, laughter, and connection, and she truly cherished her community.

In recent years, Natalie faced the challenges of a debilitating stroke with incredible courage and strength. She was blessed with a devoted team of caregivers who became part of the family. A special thank you to Lupe, who lived with the family and provided extraordinary love, comfort, and dignity throughout Natalie’s journey.

Natalie will be remembered for her strength, her selflessness, and her rare ability to make others feel welcome. Our family could not have asked for a more devoted wife, mother, Mimi or matriarch. Her presence will be missed every day, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Natalie is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Harry Louden; her children, Laura Kefauver (Nick) of Frederick, Maryland, Matthew (Jillian) of Myersville, Maryland, and Michael (Cailtin) of Michiana Shores, IN; and her five granddaughters, Claire and Avery Louden, and Della, Milena and Colette Kefauver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fedor and Klara Rudenko; and her brother, Nickolas Rudenko.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Natalie’s life.
