Obituary

Norma J. Libert, 89, of Frederick, daughter of the late Joseph B. And Mildred I. Lewis Wratten, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 with her daughter, Therese, at her side.

Norma was born on 21 July 1936 in Washington D.C. and raised there and in Maryland. Educated in Catholic institutions from an early age: St. Martin’s Elementary (Gaithersburg) Norte Dame Academy (Washington, DC) and St. Agnes School of Nursing (Baltimore), Norma pursued the vocation of nursing. She completed post-grad courses at Washington Adventist Hospital and Montgomery College and practiced for forty-seven years in hospitals, doctors offices, and Public Heath positions. Following retirement, she was an active and generous member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Frederick, MD.

Norma’s husband, Francis G. Libert, and her sons, William and James, preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by siblings, Merle Marsh, Joseph Wratten, James Wratten, Edward Wratten, Albert Wratten, and Barbara Wratten.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Therese (Maryanne Sonick); and her grandchildren Brittany Hoffman, Alan, Jasmine and James Sonick; daughters-in-law, Kathy Libert and Wendy Libert; also survive are her siblings, Mildred Tall, Edna Campbell and Maria DeJesus Sanchez.
