Orval W. Staley, Sr.

Mr. Orval W. Staley, Sr., 76, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Gloria (Gosnell) Staley.

Mr. Staley was a member of Brook Hill United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War. He was very devoted to his family and their home. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. He also enjoyed electronics, gardening, classical music and was an avid reader.

Surviving beside his wife are; his daughter, Dru Ellen Huffman and husband Allen of Odenton, MD, 2 sons; Orval Ward Staley, Jr. and wife Gloria of Barbados, Dean M. Staley and wife Joanne of hanover, PA, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold, Charles A. and Charles E., Staley, 2 sisters; Helen Rhoderick and Alma Bowers.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike,Frederick, on Sunday, January 7th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Family and friends are requested to assemble at Mount Olivets' FSK Chapel at 1:45 p.m. Pastor Conrad Link will officiate.
