Patricia Ann MacConnell

Our dear mother Patricia Ann MacConnell, 70, of Frederick, sadly passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at her son's home. She was deeply loved and will be missed terribly. Patricia also had many friends and was well-loved by all who knew her. Born on March 25, 1954, in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Parks MacConnell, Jr. and Lottie Leona (Smith).

Pat graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management and Professional Writing. 

Pat worked for Marriott International for thirty years and served as a Manager in Project Purchasing. She began her career with Marriott in 1990 in their Roy Rogers Marketing division where she played with toys that were put in the “kiddie packs” and went on to serve in many more divisions and roles until 2000 when she went to work for Kim Riffle, who became a dear and lasting friend. 

In 2020, Pat retired and soon after moved to Camano Island, Washington to spend time reading, watching movies, gardening, enjoying nature, and playing with her grandchildren. There she had a beautiful view of the Puget Sound and the whales and orca.  

Pat is survived by her son, Thomas Koenig and his wife, Jessica, son Robert Koenig and his wife, Caralynn; her two grandchildren, Bethany Koenig and Joanna Koenig; her siblings, Linda Goodwin, Susan Sherman and husband William, James MacConnell and wife, Deborah, and Kathleen MacConnell; as well as a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William Goodwin.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
