Patrick John Ganey, 52, of Frederick, MD, formerly of Laurel, MD, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital, Frederick, MD, surrounded by loving family.

Born on December 26, 1973, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Vicki Jene (Dobbins) Harvey, stepfather Dennis Harvey and the late Robert Alan Ganey. Patrick was the husband of Melissa S. Ganey, his wife of 18 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his sons Maxwell E. Ganey, Mason K. Ganey and Declan M. Ganey. His brothers Robert A. Ganey, Jr. (Anne) and Daniel P. Knode (Jean). Mattie Kendricks (Maternal Grandmother), Sharon Feerrar (Aunt), Gary Feerrar (Uncle), Bonnie Dobbins (Aunt), Darci Edwards (Aunt), Donna Sweet (Aunt), Hollie Fleshman (cousin), Timothy Feerrar (cousin), Paul Crickenberger (cousin), Kathleen L Miller (Aunt), Regan P. Ganey (Uncle), Sean G. Ganey (Uncle), Sherri L. Wybieracki (cousin), Michael S. Wybieracki (cousin) and many other cousins. Jerry A. Smith (father-in-law) and Lucille V. Smith (mother-in-law), Monica W. Smith (niece) and MacKenzie T. Smith (niece), Christopher A. Smith (brother-in-law), Chrissie M. Smith (sister in-law), Lamar Dykes (nephew).

In addition to his father, he was proceeded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Robert B. Ganey and Jacqueline L. Ganey, Paternal Uncles Michael P. Ganey, Brian D. Ganey, Russell L. Ganey, and Maternal Aunt Tammy Fraizer.

Patrick graduated from Laurel High School, class of 1991. After high School Patrick went on to join the Army/ Ranger Branch of the Military.

Patrick, a proud veteran of the Army, served from 1993 to 2001 as a Signal Support Systems Specialist with the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. Patrick’s military decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons awarded were Army Achievement Medal, Army lapel button, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Nato Medal for being deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of NATO-led peacekeeping mission, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon for deployment to Wiesbaden, Germany for 2 years, United Nations Medal, Marksmen’s Badge M-16 Rifle, Air Assault Badge.

After he left the Army, he supported several critical National Security renovation projects in Beirut, Lebanon during 9/11/2001, Bogota, Columbia, Caracas, Venezuela, Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Mexico City, Mexico.

Patrick served as a Senior Business Services Technician with Comcast for 22 years. Patrick was an active member of his community coaching his children’s sports teams and participating with the Boys Scouts Troop 271. He was currently a coach for his son Mason’s Spires Lacrosse team as well as a coach for his son Declan’s Seahawk’s Flag Football Team. Patrick enjoyed all sports, but his favorite teams were The Washington Redskins and The Baltimore Orioles. While in High School, he served as the catcher for his baseball team. After High School, Patrick played recreational softball for over 20 years. Patrick’s current softball teams he played on were sponsored by Spires and Tire World, where he was jersey number #13 and played in the outfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oscar’s Alehouse 906 N East Street Frederick, Md 21701 on Sunday, April 19th at 3:00 PM.
