Patrick Wayne McCoy

d. November 9, 2023

Patrick Wayne McCoy, current resident of Fairplay, MD, longtime resident of Lusby, MD, and hometown resident of Turtle Creek, PA, passed away peacefully at 74 years old with his family holding him dearly on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He fought a courageous cancer battle over several years, showing the strength of a giant.

Pat was a lover of all things with a motor. He spent the majority of his life on the water as one of the best marine mechanics, working for several marinas before eventually owning one located on Mill Creek. Pat shared over half of his life with his wife of 44 years, Regina. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on November 18th. He was a best friend to both his son, Brian and daughter, Amanda. His oldest son Patrick claimed a very special part of his heart. His grandchildren Maverick, Addie and Ryan lit up his entire world. Pat loved his dogs, his favorite of all time being his boxer dog, Caesar. He could crush a game of Jeopardy and had a brain so full of knowledge. He loved cars, science, quantum mechanics, rooting for his teams Alabama and the Pittsburg Steelers, and most of all - dancing. Family meant everything to Pat – from his sisters Colleen, Cindy, and Kitty to his little brother Sam, and all the amazing in-laws, nephews and nieces that filled a place in his heart.

He fought the battle with the biggest of heart, grace, and dignity. The family is thankful for the years together and the memories made that will last a lifetime. His holding on for as long as he did to make sure that everyone would be okay. He was special -  and he will be missed with overwhelming sadness, but the upmost of love and gratitude for the time spent, knowledge shared, and love given.

The service will be private as Pat’s final resting place will be in Solomon’s Island on the very waterways, he spent so much of his life navigating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ruff Start Rescue, via their online giving pages at ruff-start-rescue.networkforgood.com or mail a check to P.O. Box 129, Princeton, MN 55371.
