Patsy Ellen Rutherford

Patsy Ellen (Ney) Rutherford, 83, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, November 27, 2022, in the presence of her loving children.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Sam Rutherford, Sr.
Born on December 12, 1938, in Cabin John, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Harold and Mary Ellen (Walker) Ney.
Patsy was a graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, Bethesda, MD.  She worked for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Food Services as a Cafeteria Manager, retiring after 38 years from Churchill High School.  Patsy was past President of the Cabin John Majorette Group; a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Cabin John Memorial Post 5633, Potomac, Maryland; member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Clopper-Michael Post #10, Boonsboro, Maryland; a volunteer at the Martinsburg Veterans Administration Medical Center (MVAMC), Martinsburg, WV; member of the AEHS Girls; and attended Boonsboro Family Worship Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles, going to the casino, traveling, and spending time with her family. 
She is survived by her children, Susan Rutherford Beall (John Walker), Jeffrey William Rutherford (Fiancee JoDell Murphy), Mariann Rutherford DiClemente and husband Steve, and Pamela Lynn Rutherford (Allen Crawford); eight grandchildren, Christine Elizabeth Spicer (Nathan), Amanda Lynn Rhoderick (Matthew), Steven Robert Rutherford (Katie), Kailee Elizabeth Lucas (Skylar Whittington), Meigs Ellen Rutherford, Tayla Jonell Lucas (Will Zeek), Kameron Crawford, Haven Crawford; nine great-grandchildren, Mary-Brenna Sherwood, Kyleigh-Dawn Sherwood, McKenzie Spicer, Cannon Cole Rhoderick, Kinsley Lynn Rhoderick, Cole Robert Rutherford, Andrew Fitzmaurice, Megan Fitzmaurice and Molly Fitzmaurice; her nephew William Ney and niece Sheryl Ney.  She will also be missed by her lifelong childhood friend, Margaret "Janie" Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sam Rutherford, Sr., her son, Robert Sam Rutherford, Jr, and her brother Herbert LeRoy Ney.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.
A celebration of Patsy's life journey will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. Pastor Jack Payne will officiate.  Interment will be private.
