Paul A. Thompson was born on March 19, 1972 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania. He passed away too soon on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland. 

He was blessed in being born into a family who loved him very much and gave him the strong foundation to be the amazing man that he became in life. He cherished his friends dearly and loved his family fiercely. He was an incredible son, husband, and father.

Paul is survived by his father, Daniel Gintner. His biological mother, Lois M. Thompson. He is also survived by his wife, Jodi; and son, Paul; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois K. and Paul R. Thompson of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. His stepmother, Denise Gintner, whom he loved dearly; and siblings, Daniel Gintner, Dennis Gintner, and Desiree Gintner.

Paul attended college at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania, and Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; however, he received most of his education while enlisted in the United States Army.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 191 in Mount Airy, Maryland, and had been active in BSA Scouting throughout his life. He remained active after earning his Eagle Scout Award as a teenager. Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his son with whom he shared his love of Star Wars, Marvel movies, computers, technology, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Paul will be greatly missed by those who love him.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD.

A celebration of Paul's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Pastor Eric Deibler will officiate. Burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Mount Airy.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Legion. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
