Paul Anthony Kerr, 79, of Jefferson, MD, passed from this life on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Kline Hospice House.
Born on September 6, 1946 in Maryville, TN, he was the son of the late Charles Edwin Kerr and Louise Ward Kerr Coury.
Paul graduated from Maryville High School, where Paul was the Captain of the school's 1963 football team. Paul graduated from The Military College of South Carolina (The Citadel) in 1968, earning a degree in Political Science. Paul served in the U.S Army between 1969-1971, primarily in Vietnam with 5th/2nd Arty.
Paul worked with his father, Ed, in the landscaping business known as 'Cheap Eddies' in Silver Spring, MD, until Paul and his wife opened a landscaping and garden center business in 1979 known as, 'Mar-Lu View Nursery & Landscaping, Inc.' in Jefferson, MD. Paul and his wife sold their business in Jefferson to longtime friend, David Dunlevy, and his family in 2018. Paul enjoyed playing poker with his friends when he wasn't working, as well as his many fishing trips with friend Floyd Haupt. Paul will be missed by his lifelong friend Phil Mizell of Maryville, TN, and his loving, but mischief-making dog, Gypsy. Paul was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill Wilson since 1990 where he made many friends within the fellowship.
He is survived by his son, Jasen Daniel Kerr (U.S. Marine Corps Retired), and wife Megan Braverman, sister Jane Ward (Kerr) Bottom of Apopko, FL, nephew Brandan Bottom and his wife Kimberly Lyn Bottom, sister-in-law Linda P. Frazier, Shuyee Kerr, mother of granddaughter, Audrey T. Kerr, and grandsons Shamus T. Kerr and Liam T. Kerr.
In addition to his parents Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jane Frazier Kerr, stepson Bradley W. Teagle and stepdaughter Denise E. Flynn, and brother-in-law David M. Frazier.
A celebration of Paul's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD. Rev Tim May will officiate.
At Paul's request, his ashes will be scattered in the Great Smoky Mountains, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in memory of Paul to the Wounded Warriors Project or to a charity of your choosing.
