Paul L. "Butch" Souders, 81, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in Boonsboro, Maryland.

Born on September 12, 1944, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond Souders and Betty (Green) Souders. 

Butch was a lifelong farmer by trade. He had his own farm where he grew potato's. He was also very involved with his church where he was a bus attendant an usher and helped with Bible school.

Faith was an important part of life for Butch. He was a lifelong member of the Victory Baptist Church, in Boonsboro, Maryand. 

Butch was an outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, working with his hands, and being with his family. He really enjoyed woodworking, and was always tinkering with something. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Karen Elizabeth Souders, his children, Craig Simpson, and Chad Simpson (Lea), grandchildren: Stephanie Simpson, Kayle Schaffer, Francis " Pete" Simpson, Michelle Simpson, Jenny Simpson, Emily Simpson, Polly Simpson and Elizabeth Simpson, Colby Simpson, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two sisters, Marlene Stottler (James), and Sandra Lewis (Souders). In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Simpson, and two brothers, Larry Souders, and Robert Souders.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland. 

A celebration of Butch's life journey will take place at 11:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Butch's memory to the Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.
