Pearl L. Nichols

Mrs. Pearl L. Nichols, 68, of Frederick, died Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Eugene E. Nichols who died in May of 1992.

Born on June 23, 1938 in Seven Mile Run, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Mellott) Abbott. A Branch Chief Secretary for the Security Exchange Commission , Pearl enjoyed the work she did during her 36 years of service.

She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed playing BINGO and crocheting. Pearl loved watching her son, Ricky, shoot pool, her children and grandchildren playing baseball, and any spare moment she could spend with her family. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Toms and husband Randall, and Deborah Podgurski and husband Gary all of Frederick; two sons, Ricky Nichols and wife Dayna of Frederick and James Nichols of Florida; two sisters, Denise Starr of McConnellsburg,PA, and Kay Flanagan of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother Thomas Abbott of McConnellsburg, PA; a son-in-law, Jerry Johnson of Roanoke, VA, fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded by a granddaughter Tracy Shelton and a daughter Patricia Johnson.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

Services: A service celebrating her life will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating.
